Summary

Mississippi State blasted Jackson State 17-2. The Bulldogs head for Oxford this week for a big three-game series with the rival Rebs.

Last night in Oxford, it was Southeast Missouri State doing the blasting as they shelled the Rebels 13-3.

It appears that State and Ole Miss are trending in two different directions. I break it down on today's show.

And hello friends. Hope it you're having a great week wherever you are. It is a rivalry week in college baseball for us.

And so we're going to preview the upcoming series against the Ole Miss Rebels. The Rebels have struggled as of late.

0:17.8

And let me go ahead and get this out of the gate right now. That means absolutely nothing.

When the Maroon team is across the diamond and the other dugout,

0:25.6

we know we're going to get their best effort.

0:27.7

It is not in any way a confidence builder to know that those guys have been struggling a little bit.

0:32.4

Maybe for our fans, but the reality of it is, as you just never know.

0:36.2

You know, sometimes you need a quality opponent that you have an emotional investment in to kind of get you motivated. We've been there before. We have. Remember back in 2018? You know, we won that series against those guys and, you know, really kind of went on from there. It was a turning point in the season. You could argue the sweep of Arkansas

0:54.8

probably got that run going. But the reality of it is, is they were a better baseball team,

0:59.7

but us at that point in the season, we won the series. So we can't take anything for granted

1:04.0

in any respects. Listen, thank you guys so much for your support. I get messages all time from

1:10.1

you guys, and I appreciate them.

1:11.6

I do my best to respond to all of them. Sometimes life gets busy and I can't always get back

1:16.6

with you, but it's not in any way intended any disrespect. A good ink therapy session yesterday,

1:24.2

so we're in a good mood today. So it's been a while since I've added some

1:28.4

ink. And so we've done that. Hot-tailed back to Starkville for last night's big win over Jackson

1:34.6

State. I say it's a big win. It was big because of the fact that we played as well as we did.

1:39.5

Still some things to kind of improve upon to say the least. But I would much rather be the team

1:43.9

that wins

1:44.3

big in the midweek than loses big in the midweek going into a big series. So we're going to

1:50.6

break that down, break down last night's game. We're going to look ahead to the weekend, but also to look
