Welcome to the Barnyard with Steve Robertson as always. I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the magnificent Monday edition of the yard. Hope you're having a good week. It's a busy week here at Mission Control. I've prepared you guys. I will be leaving for New Mexico again. Hopefully it's the last trip I ever have to make to New Mexico. I may get miserable next month and decide to go, but I'm going to be meeting her in Nashville at some point next month, and then she'll be home. And your good friend and host will be quite happy about that. But I'll be out there on Friday. So again, a programming note, four work days left in a week from me. I'll be recording three of those four.

So we'll record today, Wednesday, and then Thursday night. And so we'll get moving Friday.

And then I will bring my stuff with me. The plan is to record Sunday night or Monday while I'm out

there. So we'll see how things go.

She sleeps a lot later to me.

So the plan is probably Monday morning.

I get up and record you guys a show.

And then, you know, we'll have a lot to talk about.

Guys, we're like a month away from college baseball season. Did it sneak up on you? I'm ready. I'm absolutely ready. I'm ready to see the new-look Bulldogs. I believe we're going to be a very good team this year, eager to see how we can pitch it. That's going to determine a lot. Offensively last year, we were kind of up and down at times.

I think we're going to be a much better offensive team this year. We'll miss RJ Yeager, of course, and Logan Tanner, Cam James, the whole crew there, Landon Sims, of course.

But the reality of it is we're Mississippi State. We don't rebuild, we reload. Last year is an

anomaly for us. And that's what I suspect that you're going to see this year as Mississippi State right back in the mix for the hosting discussion. How good we can be will depend on the pitching staff. I think we're going to be a lot better on the back end. That was really the issue last year. You know, talking to Scott Foxhall. He talks about you having some guys go out there and get you three outs and then you get, then you pass off to the next guy. I mean, you look at what we did in 2021. That's what made it so successful. That's what gave us so much confidence in the bullpen. If you could have a starter and get you through the order twice, maybe get to the fifth inning, you felt really good about life because you knew

you had enough arms on the back end and nail that thing down, proved to be some of the best

arms in the country. So I don't know if we're going to be able to make that same claim this year,

but I think we're going to follow that same model. Let's thank our friends at Bulldog Burger Company.

I had Bulldog Burger Company for lunch. I had the

sloppy Joe sliders with mac and cheese as the side. I'm not sure what Ian had. I know that it was

a burger and fries. He likes that freshman 15, which was the, I guess the second burger I ever had at

Bulldog Burger Company years ago. Had the Bulldog first because I wasn't quite ready to kind of get

off the beaten path.
