This podcast was a little nerve racking for us because it was the first time we had a guest on the show who we didnt’ know before! (Could you tell?) But Stephen made it easy for us. It was seriously an honor to have him on the podcast and hear his insights from his life experience as a pastor, entrepreneur, husband, and father. My biggest takeaway was how he approaches conversations with his wife that could turn into a fight. Instead of accusing her of something or saying how she’s “making” him feel, he says - “I’m making up a story in my head right now that you’re really mad or annoyed at me about something. Is that true?” and then he lets his wife provide the context. Get this, he said that 9 TIMES OUT OF 10, HE IS WRONG. And he’s been married for 20 years!
