0:07.6	So, the metaverse. You're probably hearing a lot about it, just as I have, in the past year or so.
0:13.6	Game director, Agnes Larson, says, asking what is the metaverse is probably the wrong question.

0:23.8	there isn't one metaverse. There are many, many metaverses and they should be available and
0:29.9	accessible to anyone. There is this word that you might have heard a lot recently, like right now,
0:39.3	Metaverse. It's suddenly a huge thing. And well, for many people cause a lot of excitement.
0:46.6	I think it also causes other feelings like confusion and concern. And I think that's fair.
0:53.7	And I've also felt confused.
0:56.0	Metaverse is not really a new thing.
0:57.8	Many massively multiplayer online games, for example, can be seen as metaverses.
1:02.8	And I've certainly also felt concerned, especially when people talk about the Metaverse.
1:10.6	That assumes that there's only one owner of the metaverse,
1:14.9	and this owner would get far too much power and data.
1:20.4	It also risks being exclusive.
1:22.5	It might not be accessible for everyone,
1:24.7	and we risk to introduce many of the inequities we see in the real world
1:28.8	in the metaverse. This sounds pretty sad to me. So then you might wonder, like, why am I here
1:35.6	talking about the metaverse? That doesn't make sense. Well, the thing is, I'm not. I'm here
1:43.0	to talk about metaverse cis, and the vision of how they can provide
1:47.0	a lot of delight to their communities and even make the real world a better place. And here, we can
1:53.9	learn a lot from games. So what is even a metaverse? How do we create delightful, long-lasting metaverses? And how can
