And that has made him a highly sought after speaker around the world on innovation and lateral thinking.

And it's really exciting for you to bring you on because you've written the book on Dream Teams.

And again, as I mentioned in the intro a little bit, one of the biggest questions that I get is, John, how do I build my team?

So I don't have to be the person doing all the things all the time.

And I think that we're going to start off with a pretty interesting point here, which, you know, as you put it, the sad data, which is most teams actually perform, perform worse than most individuals.

So Shane, say what's up to Fire Nation and then break into why that's the sad, sad reality.

So, okay, so the sad data, I mean, maybe I can start a little bit with the most depressing way to sort of get into the topic of teamwork.

And one of the reasons why I got into it is I was sitting at a science presentation called Nerdnight many years ago.

And there's a scientist up on stage and Nerdnight is kind of people get drunk and tell scientists get drunk and get presentations.

So there's drunk scientists who's up there. There's talking about which will kill us first, the aliens or the robots.

And you give this whole presentation about what different people who study things think and AI and all this.

They got down off the stage and I grabbed his arm and I was like, hey, you know, by the time that the aliens showed up to get us, wouldn't it be their robots that already killed them?
