what is the trade that we have to announce here so it started out as a two team trade and that it became a three team trade so basic the key parts of it Milwaukee is trading Matthew dova dova John Henson a protected first round pick and a second round pick to the calves the calves are sending George Hill to Milwaukee and Sam Decker to Washington he was rerouted as a part of this and then Washington is trading Jason Smith to Milwaukee sending a second round pick to Milwaukee

and I believe they're also sending one because they're unprotected one that was already going to Milwaukee and they're sending one to Cleveland as well.

Let's start from the box and to this first the big news is getting off of money for 2019 and as they've had success early this year at a rising win over the raptors in Toronto that has become in some ways more of an imperative because they have four starters who are going to be free agents Malcolm Braggden is a restricted for

the region Eric blood so is a free agent Chris Middleton is a free agent and then Brick Lopez who they won't have any type of bird rights on is also a free agent so what this did is it takes them from basically no salary cap space right out the cap to having about 25 million or so in space.

I'm sorry now is looking at the wrong line to having about 36.6 million in space without blood so Middleton or Lopez that would include Malcolm Braggden's cap hold which is about 1.9 million and then they can pay him as much as they want to as long as they keep that cap hold on the books.

Blood so in Milton both have about 20 million or so cap holds and let's say only one of those guys wants to come back are they can only agree with one of them well now you've got 20 million or so to either replace them or maybe to resign a Brooke Lopez should he need more than the room exception or you now have more room to bring all these guys back if you want to you still wouldn't be able to offer Lopez more than the full middle of exception but that might be enough to get it done for him we'll see where where he's at.

But your problem really was going to be because they had full bird rights on blood so Middleton and brought to you like well why couldn't they bring all back well they would have had big time tax problems at that point and they could have been a similar situation to where Denver was had they brought all those guys back and this is a team that by all indications is never going to pay the tax certainly wouldn't have a significant tax payment so this now actually makes it possible to bring these guys back they basically would have about.

63 million to work with overall assuming that Merza Teletovitch his 3.5 million that they stretched it gets taken off the cap for a long term injury exclusion which seems likely so they should I mean I guess it would be tough to bring back all four of those guys for 60 million might be a little bit difficult under the tax I mean they still have some more money they could potentially move with

the snow and Ilya so but that's the reason for doing this and they're probably not going to be able to add to this team if they want to keep these guys wrong but if they do leave then they might at least have some possibility to stay competitive at that point.

There are two other reasons why the bucks could or would have did this deal now one of them is that it improved them on the court in the immediate George Hill is better than Matthew Delvedova that and John Henson is out he is dealing with the

surgery to for a torn wrist ligament he is out somewhere between the all star break and the end of the regular season don't know how long you take from work himself into shape all that kind of stuff and it seems like they're going to try Jason Smith as kind of like utility center then if he doesn't work they still have enough wiggle room under the tax they could cut him

signs of what he also I would be Christian would be happy to have a Smith plays it all for them and they got paid cash to take him I would be I mean if he plays even over Christian would I think that would be a mistake and certainly over maker I think it would be a mistake too we'll see

but I mean George Hill can help the rotation for sure even I mean their guards aren't huge blood so has a longer wingspan but I but he can still help he can capable player can help run the offense especially when they're starting

bragged in and blood so together having somebody else that can initiate on the second unit is good I think he'll could be energized by playing on a better team again granted he ended the season on a better team last year but that's one

element and then the other element is the cost benefit analysis of doing this trade now versus doing it later so there is certainly a

possibility that Milwaukee will not need to cut salary for the 2019 20 season but this helps them whether they're a cap space team whether

their tax team helps them either way and what they gave up is it looks better now than it did at one point because I mean early on we

just thought it was a first and a second but it's a pretty well protected first so the they still have this

obligation to Phoenix and that pick is probably not going to convey this year because it's it's play out it's double-sided protected but it's the

more important side is I think it's a 19 basically a 17 to 30 bucks make the playoffs yeah 17 to 30 and the bucks are going to be in that 17 to 30 range
