This is the Hidden Killers podcast with Tony Bruske and continuing coverage of the case against Brian Koberger.

Yeah, well, we all know what happened in this case.

Brian Koberger has admitted to guilt or he is pleading guilty, however you want to say it.

It's interesting online.

You hear people saying,

well, just because he's pleading guilty doesn't mean he's guilty. I don't understand the logic

of the Pro Burgers. I never will, other than it's a mental illness. So I'm going to leave it

at that, and I'm not going to get caught up in a conversation about that today.

But what does matter is the statements and the feelings and the emotions and the trauma that the

families of these victims are now going through because prosecutor Bill Thompson, Santa,

is he's extended basically an olive branch, I guess.

I get it.

I get the idea of let's not risk it on a jury where, I mean, we've seen other cases where things are pretty damning and the jury's

still like, yeah.

And that I think is the sad reality of our country right now is we can't really rely on our system,

our jurors, because quite honestly, there's a lot of dumb people out there.

Tony just went there.

Yeah, that can't handle facts and can't think about things in any sort of decisive or critical thinking way more than one thought at a time.

It's like, oh, that's two thoughts.

You got to think, but it's scary. It's like, oh, that's two thoughts. You got to think, but it's scary.

It's sad, but we are where we are.

And I'm not talking about any specific case.
