Coming up, I'm going to be talking with Bruce Melton.

He is a well-known insider here in DC, a longtime Republican.

He's a lobbyist who has become sort of a niche pundit, if you will will who sort of has a good job of capturing sort of where the actual sort of fulcrum of the political debates are, whether it's on the presidential race, whether it's on the formation of the two parties, which party is headed this way, which parties have it that way.

He obviously has to do these things as a lobbyist to know which ways the wind is blowing and in order to advise clients on what to do this or that which is why he's actually a great guess to get a sense and he has this powerpoint that goes public and you'll be able to

I'll let you follow along when we have the interview. But the big theme of our conversation

has to do with sort of this current presidential environment, right?

This current climate that we're in that we're, you know, is the country,

can the country handle Biden v Trump the sequel sequel is essentially the topic of the conversation.

And it's actually the focus of my column this week and I want to share a bit of it

before as sort of a framing of the conversation that you're going to hear that I had with

Bruce.

And it's this.

So Biden clearly has a problem rallying, convincing his own Democratic voters that he is up to a second

term. Why do I say it's pretty clear? Look at any reputable poll. You have our poll,

look at a Fox poll which their pollsters are actually really good.

Their editorial decisions may not be the best, but the pollsters they hire are really solid pollsters.

But you can look at these polls all around and they all say the same thing

inside the Democratic primary, which is they all believe at a minimum, Biden should be primary

or that it's time perhaps for a new candidate. Obviously that's not
