So last month, the week my memoir was coming out, I walked into our office and there was

a guy there who was there for another event.

Now he was also releasing a book, also his memoir, Christopher Reevis.

You might know him from his acting career.

I found him charming and called me cat.

Anyhow, we exchanged books and we congratulated each other and I tucked his book in my bag.

Now later that day on the way home, I started it and I could not put it down.

Y'all, this was a beautiful book, literary, lyrical, and emotionally on point.

The title, Brown Enough.

True stories about love, violence, the student loan crisis, Hollywood, race, familiar,

and making it in America.

And yes, my memoir was about queerness and his was about brownness, but they both explored

similar complexities of identity.

When I had really first settled into my soul that you could be more than one thing, literally

I fell in love.

You can be more than one thing.
