January these are our main stories. The British Prime Minister has sacked the

chairman of his Conservative Party, accusing him of a serious breach of

standards regarding his tax affairs. Officials in the Southern Ukrainian city of

Hassan say Russian shelling has left three people dead. Senior commanders from

the Islamist group Al Shabab are said to be among more than 130 fighters

killed in an attack by government forces in Somalia. Also in this podcast the

The senior politician Nadim Zahawi has been sacked as the chairman of his

Conservative Party because of his tax dealings. Mr Zahawi who was once in charge

of Britain's finances admitted paying a penalty to settle a multi-million dollar

tax dispute. Even though the Prime Minister of Rishisunak has now removed

Mr Zahawi from his job, some politicians had accused him of weakness for waiting

this long before sacking him. The Conservative MP Robin Walker defended the
