Summary
Any doctor’s job is to analyze the symptoms of a patient, solve the puzzle, discover the disease, and then find a way to alleviate those symptoms and put a stop to the illness.
Modern medicine is still to this day a crucial field in treating people and ensuring a healthier life. But, one area where scientists still have to work on is finding ways to prevent the disease instead of actually getting to the point where it needs treatment. Sometimes, providing a fresh perspective, thinking outside the box, and keeping an open mind with regards to illnesses can actually offer insights into living free of chronic diseases.
My guest today, Dr. Segu Krishna Ramesh, is giving us a new way of thinking, a way of perhaps challenging some of our previous beliefs, seeing what makes sense and what doesn’t. He shares with us one more way of living our lives enthusiastically and with wellness orientation, not focusing on disease, but moving forward with our lives.
Dr. S.K. Ramesh is a man who is almost intimidating in terms of his background. He has gone from being a trauma surgeon to ‘awaken’ surgeon, which is an interesting combination of things. He has a significant history of 36 years in trauma surgery, was a medical doctor, professor, and consultant in trauma surgery and orthopedic surgery. Subsequently, got a Ph.D. in wellness sciences and he is a Doctor of Science and Transformational Sciences.
He has expanded his work to include a worldwide community devoted to really becoming more awakened, more enriched in their lives, and he’s really doing things you don’t typically expect from a trauma surgeon. He is a true believer, ardent preacher, and a self-taught teacher of simplicity, that will empower you to trust more in yourself and awaken your body’s potential.
Tune in to Episode 59 of Rejuvenaging and listen to Dr. Ramesh’s ideas on how to help ourselves become our best version, by really being in touch with ourselves.
Some questions I ask:
- What was your experience of being in the trauma surgery field? (04:30)
- How did you deal with your wife’s disease, and how do you generalize it to a theory or a concept that works for other people? (12:06)
- What happens when a disease occurs? How do you dovetail with traditional medicine? (20:38)
- From your perspective, if I want to lead my life in a way that minimizes my chances of getting a significant disease, are there some behaviors that I should be doing or that you recommend? (30:57)
- What are you doing these days? (36:28)
In this episode, you will learn:
- The defining moment that led Dr. Ramesh to open up his mind to other possibilities of treating a disease. (07:10)
- The principles of life Dr. Ramesh learned by being a trauma surgeon. (10:30)
- The three realizations that every human being is supposed to do. (14:04)
- What our body is trying to tell us when chronic diseases occur, and how we can begin to listen to it. (17:12)
- The similarities between science and spirituality & why you should consider accepting concepts that are beyond science. (24:12)
- An experiential exercise that you can do on the spot. (30:09)
