Alpine launched their new A390. This is reasonably large. They call it a sport fastback. It's not an SUV, and it doesn't look like one.

They don't want it to be called an SUV. It's got three motors, one at the front, two on the

rear rear. So you can do torque vectoring. Each motor controls the rear wheel. You can change the

speed of the rear wheel to help you kind of get around corners and turn certain wheels faster, etc. It's got an 90 kilowatt hour battery pack. All comes from Renault, of course. It sits on the

platform of cars like the Nissan Aria. Highly reworked, though, all tuned to be high performance,

but would you rather buy a Porsche McCann, Pohlstar 3, Test the Model Y, high performance,

Ionic 5N, another highly reworked and engineered sports car,

which is probably a bit bigger than this than the Alpine 390.

This is going to start around £70,000 when it's on sale at the end of this year,

delivering in early 2026.

It's the sporty bit of Renault. Lo loads of tech. There's no other trimotor

vehicles for that kind of money. But can they find an audience for this? Let's hope so.

In the US, the Kia EV-9 is inflation busting. It's keeping its current starting price of 56-395.

And in fact, some of the trims are down between one and two thousand dollars for next year.
