VW Group, a couple bit of China news, important for them, because they have started making their own batteries where almost 100% of the components are locally sourced, which will reduce the price.

That new battery factory factory made in 12 months from beginning to end.

And also that ties in with a new budget-friendly EV platform for China from 2026.

Based on M-EB, they sell the ID3, the 4, the 6 and the 7, I think, in China.

But that's important because VW is really struggling.

They've got their ex- expung partnership as well,

but really they've lost out to the likes of BYD there,

even with all those price cuts.

Volkswagen finally announcing a partnership with Magnus-Steair.

They're the ones in Austria that makes the likes of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class,

the G-wagon.

And they're going to develop the Scout SUV and the Scout truck. That should be on sale early 2027 in North America. Hey, talking to Mercedes-Benz and the Big G, not the baby

G, we that's coming in a different electric form, but the regular G-wagon, the EQG, they've been

showing off-road skills. It looks really, really impressive in a new YouTube video.

CEO Ollicoleneas taking it on the trailways, but also showing off the 360 degree tank turn,

or G-turn as it will be called.

You can do this on rough ground or loose soil and loose ground, and it'll turn like a tank.

Wheels on one side spin one way, wheels on the other spin the other.

It's kind of freaky to watch, but it works really well. Rivian did announce some similar

technology, but canned it. I wonder whether it was just too difficult to implement for a startup like

Rivian. They said it was because it chews up the trailways, and so they were being

ecological and not bringing that. But I also suspect it was very hard to get right.
