But they decided to go back to 2035, I think widely interpreted by the wider public, by anyone with kind of half a brain, really.

It was a political move to try and rescue some votes from a government which is just

trailing so badly in the polls. Industry slammed it as moving the goalposts. The auto industry

said that it is not consistent. The big one, I guess,

was Ford that came out and really slammed the government on undermining everything they'd said

for the last three years. Watch this face. I don't think it'll make a huge difference, though,

to how quickly we move to EV. We're not the biggest car market in the world, one of the big

ones in Europe, along with Germany and France, of course, but also we're going to have a new

government next year, because this lot have royally screwed up, and I think it's pretty certain

will be booted out. And so Labor have already said, or whether it's a Labor Lib Dem Coalition

or Labor Lib Dem Greens, whatever form of government next year,

they said that, well, the first thing we would do is bring that back in to give industry

certainty on investment. So I'm not sure it really matters. Last-ditch move, I think, by some

politicians that wasn't very well thought out. In August, the EU European Union saw 20% fully electric EVs.
