Let's do this.

It's the toughest action so far punishing Russia for interfering in the 2016 election

and other cyber attacks. The White House announced new sanctions on

several Russian agencies and individuals

that are charged with being directly involved in that.

Remember, the US believes Russia did things like make fake Facebook accounts

to spread false news and stir up controversial topics before the election.

So what do these new sanctions actually do?

Well, CNN says they would keep the people involved from coming to the US

and freeze whatever assets they have here in the US.

And that's not all. The US said Russia also hacked into the US power grid and looked around.

Not cool.

Russia calls it all political accusations and still denies any interfering in the election.
