Welcome to Ambridge on the couch, an in-depth look at the archers with me, Jeff Thomas, Lucy Freeman, Harriet Carmichael, James Everett and Matt Rodriguez-Pain.

Now, before we make a start on your emails, let's have a recap of what happened this week in Ambridge.

We began the week with Helen chatting away with her best friend, Anna Tregoran, who she hasn't

heard from for four years. It's a bit like Jane Austen where young women declare their

platonic love for each other after three minutes conversation, describe others they haven't

seen since childhood as my particular friend. Anyway, if I was lying on the floor, the last people I'd want

to see are Helen and Tom, but any port in a storm. After Tom and Helen entirely failed to figure out

how a window worked and had to take instruction from the elderly lady sprawled on the floor,

they finally got in to find Carol had cancelled the ambulance that Anna had ordered, which does raise

the question, if she had her phone with her down there on the floor, why did she not call

someone herself? Although clearly a bit frail, she didn't sound confused at all. Well, no more

confused than anyone would who'd woken up and found out they weren't Ellen Abron anymore.

Incidentally, if Anna does have an affair with either Ruth or Stella,

I hope it's not stellar as they have the same voice, and that could get very confusing.

Alan popped up guiltily, and Helen urged him to go and annoy Carol Toboggan

as getting irate keeps her circulation going.

I had a great deal of sympathy for Carol. Why do people

think that the elderly, who yes may need help getting up and down steps or lifting shopping bags,
