Well, well, well, I expected to be back down here at some point today to talk about the drafting of Shador Sanders or worst case scenario for him, the non-drafting in any of the seven rounds by Shador Sanders.

I didn't expect to be talking about Chodor

Sanders selection by the Cleveland Browns. With pick number 144 in round five, Sanders becomes

the fifth quarterback on the Cleveland depth chart. It would have made a lot more sense if

they hadn't taken Dylan Gabriel in round three. It would have made a lot more sense if they hadn't taken Dylan Gabriel in round three.

It would have made a lot more sense if they hadn't traded for Kenny Pickett back in March.

It would have made more sense if they hadn't just signed Joe Flacco a couple of weeks ago.

Five guys now. Watson, Pickett, Flacco, Gabriel, and Sanders. But, but, and I'm giving the Browns to benefit

to the doubt here. I'm assuming they have a strategy. After all, they have a chief strategy officer.

And nothing says we've got a strategy like having a guy on the payroll whose title is

chief strategy officer.

I'm not sure what the strategy is, but let's look at it one player at a time.

Deshawn Watson has the torn Achilles tendon that was retorn away from the team, but even

though it looked like maybe they were going to try to do something about that, clawback some

money they didn't.

They paid him.

He's gotten the bulk of his pay for this year, but he's not going to play this year.

He'll start the season on the Pupp list. He'll stay on the Pupp list, most likely, for all of the season.

That leaves four. Pickett, Flacco, Gabriel, Sanders.

I would assume that Pickett is going to be out. He gets retrated, something, anything,

to clear him off the roster before week one. And then they will have three quarterbacks on

the 53-man roster. They have to have three because if they would release Gabriel or Sanders,
