Breaking news, the Green Bay Packers are signing former 49ers wide receiver slash

returner Sky Moore to a one-year deal. More average 27.5 yards per kick return

and 11.6 yards per punt return in San Francisco, a key weapon for field position.

So Sky Moore never really materialized into the receiver that a lot of people wanted him to be.

I know he was a relatively popular draft prospect. I don't remember if I liked him or not,

but I had thought he had had a better career than he did. I was kind of surprised when the

announcement came across and we got Sky Moore. I'm like, that dude's pretty good, isn't he?

Turns out, no, not so much.

The thing that I did forget is what was also mentioned, where he did excel, was in special teams.

So just to be clear, Skymore was a second round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022 out of Western Michigan.

He's a 510-195 guy. He spent three years in Kansas

City, one in San Francisco, just to quickly cover his receiving ability. In four years with two

different teams, so he didn't even finish out, it tells you something his fourth year as a

first round pick. So five years, he didn't make it past three.

Four years in two teams, 598 yards, two touchdowns.

That's it.

He hasn't cracked 100 yards in a season since 2023.

And that's kind of been that.

So the idea that he's going to be a receiver, yeah, I mean,

he'll be out there. He'll be one of the boys. But for the most part, he is a return guy. And that

especially became a thing in San Francisco. In fact, San Francisco kind of did the same thing that

I think that we're doing. They picked him up. They really didn't use them much as a receiver, and then boom, they put him on as a return guy.
