Kyle Tucker is a Los Angeles Dodger in what is a shocking move.

Unless you consider the fact that the Dodgers payroll is currently about $90 million more

than the second highest payroll currently in baseball.

A shocking move that Kyle Tucker got $240 million over four years

from the Dodgers. But wait, there's got to be deferrals. There must be an Otani situation here

that would possibly merit Kyle Tucker getting $60 million. Can't be. Is it more than Otani? Remember, Otani got $700 million

over 20 years from the Dodgers. It wasn't over 10 years. So the value of the Otani deal

was around $440 million, calculated as $44 million a year for luxury tax purposes.

There's no way Kyle Tucker is worth more than Shohay Otani.

And then we got word that the deferrals are not that large.

Only $30 million out of the $240 million given to Tucker is deferred, $10 million a year for the final

three years, which means the value is $57 million a year. Kyle Tucker is now the highest paid

player in terms of average annual value and not by a dollar.

His contract is so far high and above what anybody expected.

So what happened and what's happening now?

What's happening now is people are reacting.

Mets fans furious when word came out that Steve Cohn was around $50 million per year for Tucker. Is that going to be enough?
