say Marcus and Ruth Miller convinced God was commanding them leapt into the

lake to prove their faith.

Hours later, Marcus returned to the water alone.

By morning, Ruth placed her young son Vincent on a golf cart,

drove him to the dock, and drowned him, claiming she was giving him to God.

Later, she plunged a golf cart, carrying her three teenage children into the lake.

They escaped, but the act drew first responders who uncovered the horror.

Ruth spoke in broken, unsettling phrases as deputies pieced together the truth.

Vincent's body was recovered that evening, Marcus's the next morning.

And what began as a desperate quest for divine affirmation ended in tragic death for a small
