It's Nees Showbo. What's popping? I'm super excited because today is episode one, the first volume of books and bars.

All right? Books and bars. Now, I know you know what books are, but what are bars? If you're not a hip hop fan, bars are lyrics.

They're the lyrics in which you hear rappers spit. Spitting is another phrase

for rapping. So here's the reality, all right? I know a lot of you guys don't listen to hip hop.

I know some of you do. I know most of you listen or read books and you value books.

I really love hip hop. all right? And one of the

things that happens when I hear hip hop and one of the reasons why I get kind of frustrated

when I hear people bag on hip hop is that they don't understand how much knowledge, how much

wisdom is in hip hop. And so what I'm going to do for you is I'm going to be taking excerpts from

books that I read consistently, and I'm going to be reading them, and I'm going to be giving

you my take about what it means, breaking down an excerpt or a page or chapter in a really,

really clear, practical way and tell you how I sort of apply that to my life

and what it looks like. And I'm going to do the same thing for bars. So I want to be sharing

with you some of my favorite lyrics from rap songs, from hip hop songs that have an influence

on me that I enjoy listening to. Some of them may have vulgar lyrics. And if you don't like that,

I suggest you don't listen to these because I'm going to be showing them to you. I'm going to

you. I'm going to be breaking them down. And I'm going to show you the truth and the wisdom and

the knowledge in it. All right. Now, you may not like all the words, but the reality is that

there's a ton of wisdom, a ton of knowledge in these lyrics.
