What are the options and where do I lean? Let me read the whole passage to get context here.

First Peter 318, for Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous

that he might bring us to God being put to death into flesh, but made alive in the spirit,

in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison because they formerly did not obey

when God's patience waited in the days of Noah while the ark was being prepared.

So as far as I'm aware, there's two main views here. There's

probably 16 others. You always think there's two main views until if you go and look up like some

big critical commentary, who's, you know, some people take 15 years, write a commentary on First Peter and they find,

you know, there might be like a dozen different views in this passage. But the two main ones that

I've often heard, and you might have often heard, is that this passage is either talking

about Jesus proclaiming victory to spirit beings in prison, a metaphorical prison.
