Welcome back to EV News Daily and welcome to a special bonus edition of the podcast looking at all of the

interesting EVs that have been announced so far at the Paris Motor Show this week, a proper

motor show where the car dealers have come along. Many French and Chinese, it must be said,

and actually launching cars, not in the privacy of their own event, maybe a few weeks before or

after the motor show, but in fairness, sharing the

limelight with other cars. And some of the carmakers haven't liked to do that in recent years.

But this is a good old-fashioned motor show where there's lots to talk about. And the public is now

heading around those stands and having a look. I say stands. I think the funniest one I saw

was Tesla didn't have a stand,

haven't got branding, just parked their cars on the carpet of the floor of the hall, which I thought

was kind of funny because the cars are the cars and come and have a look around them. But let's

have a look at some of the, not all, but some of the interesting EVs that I think have been

announced this week at the Paris Motor Show. The first one I think is

is the Peugeot E408, obviously a French manufacturer, Stalantus there in force. And I find this

interesting because it's not another SUV, crossover, raised vehicle. In fact, it's quite the opposite.

They were playing down how low this car is. The Peugeot 408, very interesting car.

Now it's an electric form, E408, revealed in Paris with a very sporty fastback shape, and it stands just 1.48 meters tall to enhance aerodynamics.

Now, it's built on the E-EMP2 platform, wheelbase of 2.787 meters, allowing the battery to be placed under the floor,

maximizing interior space, lower center of gravity. This should be a really interesting car

for those of us that don't want just another SUV. Not talking on behalf of my wife here,

she wants exactly that kind of car to ferry the kids around. Now inside, you've got Peugeot with a compact steering wheel that they're kind of famous for
