Hey, it's Jamie Cave. Welcome back to the Forgotten Podcast. Now, if you are a long time listener, you may notice that this is an off week for the podcast,

and I am coming to you a little bit differently today than normal. And here's why.

Last month, we as a ministry celebrated 10 years, 10 years of ministry. We are like graduating

grade school now. We are moving on into junior high, you guys.

And now as in May this month, we enter National Foster Care Month. What a better time to pause,

reflect, and imagine together what the next 10 years could look like for our nation's foster care community.

Someone recently asked me, so what have the last 10 years been like?

And obviously, that's a huge question.

But I have pondered this, and there are so many memories that creep into my mind.

I remember first learning about foster care and talking to my

parents and my husband, of course, and my dad specifically. And I remember him just saying,

Jamie, I think this might be bigger than you and your family. Like this was when we were processing

do Clinton and I become foster parents. And he was so right.

My family has been forever changed by foster care,

but so have I in this whole ministry journey that God has taken me on.

I remember coming up with the name, the Forgotten Initiative,

while driving to Florida.

We were, I had spoken at a conference and at that conference,

they gave me the topic of the forgotten in our communities. And I was specifically talking about

foster care and how the church can get involved. And as we were driving, I remember saying to my
