It was the spring of 326 BC. Alexander and his army had been on the march for eight years. They had conquered the Persians, set Egypt free, obtained unprecedented wealth and fame and had massacred hundreds of thousands of men, women and children.

Now they are on the banks of the High Daspus River, which is now in the Poon Jaw province of Pakistan. This was going to be their entry point into what was then considered India.
