Summary

Carnival Cruise Line just announced that Carnival Triumph will transform into Carnival Sunrise. During this 60-day, $200 million renovation, the ship is going to get a slew of new venues, just like Carnival Sunshine did back in 2013. We talk with Gus Antorcha, Chief Operating Officer at Carnival Cruise Line about the refurbishment, and contributor Richard Simms stops by to give some insight.

This is a bonus episode of Cruise Radio because overnight carnival cruise line had some pretty

0:22.6

big news about carnival triumph one of their ships that were launched um it was launched in 1999 and they're

Because, I mean, this is a pretty big overhaul. It's actually smart on a lot of levels when you think about it. For one thing, even at $200 million, it's a lot cheaper to

1:02.0

rolling out. You know, we had Vista, we just had Horizon this year, we'll have Panorama

1:06.1

next year. So this gives them another ship that is basically new.

1:17.5

I mean, it's getting a new name, a whole lot of features added, so it's going to feel like a new ship, but it's in a smaller class.

1:24.7

And even though a lot of people really love the mega ships, there are still people who prefer something a little bit smaller.

1:26.7

We're sort of intimidated by the big ships.

1:30.3

So on that level, it gives them exactly that.

1:34.8

It gives them a smaller ship that is still sort of basically new.

1:42.3

Yeah, I don't know about you, but I prefer the ships that are between 2,500 and 3,000, 3,500-ish.
