So I got an email the other day in response to the discipline episode that I did with my husband, Bill, that I'm going to read to you and then answer on this podcast, as opposed to just emailing her back, in part because it's a very, very common issue. And it also struck a nerve in

me because I remembered being in this boat myself and how strongly I felt about it. So I wanted to

take the time to answer her in this way. Also, just knowing, just know going forward, I'm not going to be using names at all when people

email me and, you know, tell me their story or ask a question and I want to jump on here and

answer or if I incorporate into a regular podcast episode or what have you.

It's just a lot easier if I tell the stories and just leave the names out altogether.

It's difficult to make sure everybody is good with my doing that.

I can't always do that.

And so it's just easier to not use any names at all. So just

knowing that going forward, if you have a question or a comment, I'm not going to, you know,

you'll be anonymous, is my point. Okay, she writes, hi, Suzanne, love your show. I'm so glad you're

What would you do if other children are running around wild in public places and your child

wants to do the same? It seems hard to discipline my son when he sees his friends running around

and acting wild and he wants to join in.

And the other parents say nothing to their children.

I don't want to cause an uncomfortable situation by disciplining another person's children,

and my son has a hard time listening when everyone around him is able to get away with bad behavior.

My son is four and a half for reference.
