Hey Happy Rant listeners, this is Barnabas Piper.

You'll notice this intro sounds a little different than our usual podcast intros.

First, because we don't have the screeching video game synthesizer music and then second of all because

Ted and Ronnie are not on with me. That's because this is a bonus episode that

is the audio book forward and first chapter of my book The Pastors Kid.

I wrote this book originally in 2014 and my dad wrote the forward for it and then in 2020 was able to get it re-released by

the Goodbook company and and record the audio book for it with one audio so

and the coolest thing is that my dad was able to read the forward.

So you'll get to hear that in his voice.

So I guess we can say we have John Piper as a guest on the podcast,

although he doesn't know that this is happening, so he's an

unwitting guest. But just a word about the book and who this is for. I wrote this

from the perspective of Pastor's kids, so trying to write on behalf of people

like me who have grown up in the church as Pastors kids dealing with the unique challenges

of that, those pressures, those expectations, that environment, but then also looking at what is

our unique place in the church, what is our hopefulness, what does it look like to find identity

in Christ when you've been told your whole life kind of what you're supposed to be.

So it's four pastors kids in that way, but then it's also four church members, how to

interact with and encourage the pastor's family.

And it's for pastors, whether you're aspiring to ministry,

you're in ministry, you have young kids,

or you still have kids at home, this is for you.
