we are evidence-based medicine nerds. We are, but for

good reason and in a good way, and we hold that title with pride. Yes, absolutely. So some of you

are wondering, what is evidence-based medicine? Well, we couldn't come up with a definition as good as

one of the founding gurus of evidence-based

medicine who said it's, quote, the conscientious, explicit, and judicious use of current best

evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients.

And there's another great quote that comes from a 2004 family practice management article.

Good doctors rely on both their expertise and the evidence.

Without clinical expertise, practice risks becoming tyrannized by evidence.

For even excellent external evidence may be inapplicable to or inappropriate for an individual patient.

Without current best evidence, practice risks becoming rapidly. may be inapplicable to or inappropriate for an individual patient. Yeah.

Without current best evidence, practice risks becoming rapidly out of date, though, to the

detriment of patients.

Yeah.
