Hello everybody. This is Jennifer Metteries, and this is not a normal episode, obviously. This is not an

0:13.7

episode about a particular disaster, anything like that. Last week, I went to New York City to visit

0:20.3

some of the memorials there and work on the book

0:24.6

that I started back in September.

0:27.6

And so this particular time, I got a chance to go to New York and go around to some places,

0:34.6

not all of the places that I wanted to go to, but I only had a couple of days,

0:38.9

and it was cramming in things when I could and taking account for the fact that my depression

0:46.9

has not been very good lately, and last week it was absolutely terrible. That is one thing that I

0:53.1

wanted to address before I get into some of the

0:56.0

things that I did on my trip is that I had really bad depression all week long. I have had

really kind of ups and downs and mostly downs for the past couple of weeks, and I was kind of

1:09.8

hoping that going to New York would alleviate some of that. And it did. I'm not going

1:16.5

to lie, but also it's, I think more than anything, the one thing that helped was being able to go

1:24.5

to the weed store and pick up THC lollipops and gummies. So I got home and

1:31.3

got to try those and it turns out they work really great. I am on about half a gummy right now,

1:37.0

for the record. The important thing is that when I left for my trip right about the time that I was leaving for my

1:48.3

trip, the news leaked about the Roe versus Wade decision and what that might entail. And that

1:58.2

did nothing to improve my mood all week either. It was sort of this kind of thing that

2:03.0

was dwelling on the edge of my mind. And regardless of how you feel about it, it really is a

2:11.5

snowball effect in terms of how many politicians came out afterwards to say, well, now we're going to outlaw this

2:18.5

and now we're going to outlaw that. It's a very worrisome time for a lot of people right now.

2:24.4

But I'm not going to talk about that because I don't really feel like it. Like I said, half a
