I am here to talk all about the Bachelor for this episode and whether you are a Bachelor

fan or not, I think you're really going to enjoy this because much like all of us,

I love seeing behind the curtain of production.

And what I am going to do today is talk to a good friend of the podcast, Shira Weiss,

about the recent book, Bachelor Nation, that Amy Kaufman wrote, who was a reporter, a

blogger, a re-capper, and kind of an inside woman on the Bachelor franchise for a very

long time.

And writing this book, this tell-all, has pretty much gotten her ousted from that world.

So you know it has a lot of dirt.

I read it over vacation, Shira read it at the same time, and we compared notes, and we

just really wanted to dive into, you know, the most interesting tidbits, and also how

that shit crazy, the contestants get, because a lot of them who Amy interviewed really talked

about like the psychological warfare of the show, at the hands of the producers, the producers

make these women and these men pretty much insane while they're there.

And there's so much mind control that goes on.

It reminded me, of course, of the cult mentality, and I was like, holy shit.

And a Bachelor mansion is kind of like a cult.

So we talk about that for a little bit too.

But anyway, I hope you enjoy this.

I really think it's a book worth reading.

Like I said, you don't even have to be a fan of the show.
