Every year DC Comics salutes the Cape Crusader with his own special day,

and this year much of the Batman Buzz is around the gritty, I might argue too

gritty, but that's just me. Trailer for the upcoming film The Batman, slated to hit theaters in 2021,

But Gritty Batman is just one facet of the character whose entertained

fans since Bob Kane and Bill Finger created him in 1939. In February of 1940, just about a year after Batman's comics debut, his stablemate

Superman came to radio in his own series of adventures. And while the Dark Knight Detective never landed a radio show of his own,

Batman and his sidekick Robin the Boy Wonder made regular visits to Superman's radio show.

Those joint adventures on the air predated their team-ups in comics, cartoons, and films.

So today, in a tip of the cowl to Batman, we'll hear one of those Superman radio
