And so we thought we had a lot of great feedback about the episodes we did on James

the Just and we thought that we'd maybe just follow up on what we said about James and the

And one, I'll summarize it here is from a listener named Ben.

And he shared with us some of the ideas about the idea of James and the Council of the Apostolic Council.

Why did James give in, you know, or what you might perceive as giving in on

whether Jews or these new Christians needed to conform with the Jewish law?

And he really said that the idea of Judaism as being a separate identity.

It was supposed to be in opposition to syncretism, where once Jesus, now this is from a Christian perspective, I'm sure Jewish people would have a different perspective on it, is that once Jesus, you know, in the scriptures it's saying that he's fulfilled the law and that he is the true Israel, that syncretism doesn't really matter.

You want to spread the message to the whole world because it's the whole world is getting this message.

And it's his idea, Ben's idea, and I think that is also an idea that James gave in on these points because he realized it didn't really matter anymore that the law's been fulfilled.
