I'm Brooke Gladstone, and this week you'll hear about the court case that almost set the course for reproductive rights.

It started with an Air Force captain who was pregnant.

The regulation said, if you're pregnant, you cannot be active duty.

If you have a child, you cannot be active duty.

Mothers, unlike fathers, were deemed unfit to serve. No way. No way are they going

to do this to Struck. Susan Strick is not going to fall for this crap. It would have been my choice

for the first reproductive freedom case to come before the U.S. Supreme Court. Wise judicious man would be helping women make good decisions about what was best for them.

So should we stop talking about Roe v. Wade then?

Well, you don't pull your finger out the dyke while you're building a better dam.

In March, the Supreme Court will hear a major case called June Medical Services v. Gee,

about a Louisiana law requiring doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges

at a local hospital.

The law would leave Louisiana with just one clinic.

Three years ago, the court struck down an identical Texas law.

But that was before Justice's Gorsuch and Kavanaugh joined the bench.

Now everything is different.

It's not just Alabama, Missouri, Georgia, Mississippi, Ohio, and Kentucky.

Ohio and Iowa, and they're all trying to go bubble up to the Supreme Court and overturn Roeview Waite.
