The BNV has posted a new policy.

They did that over the weekend.

They will no longer allow people to change the gender marker, which is the gender shown on their driver's license or state ID, even with a court order or a doctor's note.

Previously, you could update your gender on the Indiana credentials using a court order or something from a physician's statement,

but not anymore. And the new rule went into effect after the administrative rules process

that included two public hearings. Yeah, this was part of one of Mike Braun's executive orders

that he signed after he came into office last year,

which directed state agencies, which all agencies, so this goes beyond just the BMV, to implement

policies based on biological sex as assigned at birth. And this law takes effect or this rule

takes effect this Thursday. So that's when this is going to

officially be part of that. And I think that, you know, most of us will look at this and say, well,

yeah, that's common sense. I didn't realize. I didn't even know that you could change your

sex that was listed on your driver's license up until this executive order came out and we

were talking about it

because it was in the news. But I think it makes a lot of sense. I think frustrates most Americans

and certainly most Hoosiers out there is it's the whole concept of gender dysphoria or

gender being a fluid situation or gender being a social construct is just absolutely foreign to most Americans.

You were either born with lady parts when you were born or you were born with man parts

when you were born.

And the concept that gender is a social construct is just because you say those words

doesn't mean it's true.
