It's happy birthday to Big Verge and the Reds prepare for

their Far East tour as preseason plans remain very much on course. So get into

all the latest Red Chatter I have with me our Liverpool correspondent to Paul Gorse and

fashionably late playing the Ian Doyle role it is Sean Bradbury. Chaps I

trust you both well and course the election jump straight into yet more contract news for the Reds.

It was one of the priorities on the return from preseason to speak with Joe Gomez about extending

his stay at Anfield and a new five-year contract has been delivered.

that kind of see that Liverpool wanted to move on to once Sala was done and dusted.

And he wrapped up Gomez pretty sharpish, haven't he?

It has to be said.

I think there was some few questions over kind of whether or not he would be moving on, you know externally at least anyway there was some

links to Aston Villa and never really have gone away out there and there was also a bizarre

one linking to realm Round Madrid at one point.

So I was never really too

to worry about him looking to move.

I just think it's just been a little bit of an unfortunate period

where he's come back from a long-term injury.
