Hello and welcome to the latest Liverpool Echo Blood Red podcast. I'm Matt Addison.

Alongside me today are Ian Doyle and David Lynch.

It is of course the International Break, which means no Liverpool game for a while,

but we'll be providing you with plenty of red content nonetheless over the course of the next fortnight or so.

For today we thought we'd have a chat about Liverpool season so far, the players who are returning from injury after the international break as well.

We'll also touch on the great start of the season for LFC women who beat Chelsea

at Prenton Park on Sunday.

But for the first part of the podcast, I thought we'd split it into three sections defense midfield and

attack. Doodio come to you first we might as well start with the defense and have a

little bit of a chat around what we've seen so far this season obviously Obviously, we don't need to go into the broader points

and difficulties, but there are some bits

that we would like to touch upon today.

I know it was kind of something that we talked about

a little bit in the summer around Joe Gomez.

Obviously, it wasn't a great half for him against Napoli, but what have you made of him

so far this season? It's been a bit of an unexpected opportunity, I suppose, for him to play quite a few games.

He was doing all right until he lost the ball halfway through the first half at Nephely.

And then he had fell off on we haven't seen him again since half time so admittedly

Liverpool I barely played against then so that's been one thing but going was he's

being I actually think he's been he was the best player against Everton I

think he's he's done quite well until they're performed.
