Summary

On the day that Dejan Lovren turns 32, Matt Addison is joined by Theo Squires and Marcus Banks to discuss whether Liverpool are in danger of repeating a transfer mistake. The Reds were left to rue their decision to sell Lovren last summer but, after a horrendous run of injuries, the centre-back situation is looking a lot healthier. But would that change if Nat Phillips chooses to leave? However, is another defensive position more of a concern? If Neco Williams asks to go and is sold for £10m it would leave Liverpool with just Trent Alexander-Arnold as their sole senior right-back. As it stands it doesn’t appear as if the Reds would seek a replacement for Williams. But does that have echoes of Lovren’s departure? Or could Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fill the void? Talk then turns to Jordan Henderson, whose first international goal sealed England’s Euro 2020 quarter-final win over Ukraine, and Danny Ings, who has turned down a new deal at Southampton. Should Liverpool look to re-sign the striker? The panel discuss that as well as possible interest in Belgium starlet Jeremy Doku.Get exclusive podcasts direct to your inbox every week for FREE by joining the Blood Red Club. It's always seems to be the way, doesn't it? Like Liverpool get rid of players and they haven't been playing and it's just to give them more football and then that's when they need the most.
