In its immediate aftermath, the 1984 murder of Brenda Lafferty and her baby daughter had their community asking why.

But once the investigation was underway,

law enforcement began to look closely

at the family that Brenda Lafferty had married into.

Brenda was a devout Mormon, but she disagreed with the extreme

religious beliefs of her brothers-in-law, Ron and Dan Lafferty, who had embraced fundamentalist views and were excommunicated from the LDS Church.

Brenda has been described as a young woman who was dedicated to her husband

Alan, their daughter, and their church. But Brenda had been raised in a more liberal Mormon family

and she wasn't afraid to openly disagree with her in-laws

fundamentalist views which included polygamy. Following their ex-communication, Dan and Ron Lafferty had become more and more fanatical in their beliefs.

And they blamed Brenda when Alan refused to join them.

That's pretty interesting. I learned a lot. So today's beer review is Big Bad Baptist, which is

brewed in Salt Lake City by an epic brewing company. It's a Russian imperial scout, pretty heavy hitter, 11.8% alcohol by volume.

Pitch black beer, tiny tan head, very nice aroma, some alcohol, coffee and chocolate, and the taste is even better.
