At this point, we all know that having visual content in a blog post

is a must. Orbit Media's blogging study identified a couple of key stats regarding the number of

images bloggers use. They found that a total of 73% of bloggers include one to three images in a blog post. This stat

appears to show that most bloggers are just checking the box when it comes to adding images to a

blog post. The finding that stood out the most was that only 3% of all bloggers posts 10 or

more images within a typical blog post.

Compared to the bloggers posting 1 to 3 images in a post,

the 10 plus image bloggers were getting 250% more traffic to their post.

The takeaway here is that more images equals more traffic. One reason for

this is because if you have more images on a post, you're going to have more images that show up in Google

image search. Another reason is having at least 10 images keeps people from hitting the back

button and increases the average time on page.

This is a major factor in the Google algorithm. If you can keep readers on your post longer than the

competition, then your post is going to go straight to the first page of Google results.
