Today's interview is with Professor Jeremy Crang, a historian at the University of Edinburgh.

Along with Paul Addison, who sadly died last year,

Jeremy is the co-editor of the Spirit of the Blitz, Home Intelligence and British Morale, September

1940 to June 1941. This book compiles reports from the Ministry of Information, recording the morale of the British public during the height of the Blitz.

A little while back, Jeremy spoke to BBC History Magazine editor Rob Atar about how the British

public came to be monitored in this way and what the reports can tell us about the so-called

Blitz spirit.
