The longest Psalm in the Bible is Psalm 119. It has been called the Psalm of the Scriptures because it concentrates on one thing, the amazing sufficiency of God's word for our lives.

you need. Did you ever notice that the Psalm of the Scriptures, Psalm 119, is written in the form of a prayer?

That it is a back and forth between the Psalmist and his God.

Prayer and the Word are always divinely connected. Communion with God

requires a two-way communication. God speaks to us. We respond to him. We're in the second section

of Psalm 119, the verses that begin with verse 9 and end with verse number 16.

And right in the middle of that section, there is this beautiful expression of the

psalmist heart.

He says in verse 12, blessed art thou, O Lord, teach me thy statutes.

Now, he's been talking about God and god's been talking to him but now he speaks directly to the lord and when he speaks to the lord what does he do he worships he blesses the lord

oh dear friend the word should always lead you to worship.

If you're studying the Bible the right way, you don't think more of yourself and more

of your Bible knowledge.

You think more of God.

In fact, you think of yourself less and less, and you see yourself smaller and smaller,

and you see the greatness of God.

The word leads to worship.

We're so selfish at times.

We think all the blessings are for us.

But here, the psalmist turns it around.

He's being blessed by the word, but he just stops and he says, bless the Lord.
