1:05.0 | I've known him since he was a war not you know what I'm sure you got into it in your conversations, but he was a Marine. |
1:12.0 | Then he was a war not sir. Then a second lieutenant retired as a two star general and I've known him since he was a war not sir. |
1:17.0 | So most of it I didn't know the Marine part but right anyhow you know it's and it's guys like that relations like that and I think |
1:25.0 | are what are most significant about your time spent in the military and harm's way and you know other experiences but I think for me anyway in my life there's two groups of people. |
1:36.0 | There's two groups of people there's the group that kind of have in my personal world and in the professional world and certainly the guys that I served within the 160th are in that very special group. |
1:48.0 | And we share common culture and common beliefs and values and you know I think the same way about our country and everything else. |
1:57.0 | So it's just a it's really changed my life honestly but to get the clock rewind a little bit I grew up in the Northeast. |

2:12.0 | In fact I was talking to my mother just a couple nights ago and you know when she was young she did what they call peace work which is that you basically on a line making shoes and you get paid by the number of shoes you do something for. |
2:23.0 | So you know that's the kind of upbringing I had and you know I always when I think back on it I didn't know the difference I mean I didn't know if we were millionaires or poppers you know and it was because everybody around us was the same way and I you know we had lots of family in the area and I was somewhat insulated from the fact that you know our are our. |
2:43.0 | You know place in economic scale was pretty low but I did not difference you know so I found memories of my childhood but that was in a national guard so it wasn't weird to see him or other members of the family come home in uniform he was a NCO is first sergeant of the local national guard unit. |
3:04.0 | And you know at the time the guard didn't deploy the guard is a whole different animal today but then I don't even know in the last time the guard had deployed so you know he went on annual training but he didn't you know you obviously didn't go to war he was a full time guards so that was the difference in the air guy. |
3:21.0 | Yeah so he went not the whole time but but later in his career he was full time guards so I in fact I learned to drive a stick shift on an army cheap. I drove the head of manual transmission. |
