Welcome to Karen Hunter is awesome. I am Karen Hunter, and it is Black History Month,

0:16.3

but for me it is Black History Month every damn day. Okay okay and i am very committed to the notion that

0:24.9

history not black history now history is super important because if we don't know our history we

0:32.7

will repeat it but also even worse we will end up rewriting it in our own image. And if you're not in power,

0:41.3

if you don't have control over the messaging that goes out and what goes in the books, then you

1:42.7

public schools that are telling black

1:44.3

kids that they can't wear their hair the way it grows out of their head because somehow

1:48.6

is a distraction and against the law. But they're not adhering to the law, which says you have to

1:53.3

teach the history. So maybe the administrators need to learn a history first. But more importantly,
