I heard you also say that I think you said that the dollar was one of the greatest scams

of all time and I'm wondering if you can tell me what you meant by that and maybe through

the lens of freedom and then ultimately Bitcoin.

Yeah, absolutely.

To give you a little bit of background as to why I got into Bitcoin is I was going and

I was studying finance and undergrad during the 2008 financial crisis.

So when this crisis occurred I realized that my textbooks were wrong, the professors

were wrong and everyone on TV that I trusted was wrong.

And in that moment I realized that we needed something different.

We needed to replace trust in the financial system and come, you know, three, four years

later I discovered Bitcoin.

And Bitcoin to me was that holy grail financial instrument that removed trust from the financial

system.

So I didn't have to trust in bureaucrats or politicians or policy makers.

I could trust in mathematics and physics and that's what Bitcoin really represents.

It represents a trustless system, a system where trust isn't required.

And why is that important?

You know, fundamentally like my core beliefs are more libertarian leaning, so more around

freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of movement, freedom of finance.

And so for me, Bitcoin and a permissionless system where it can't be censored and can't

be seized very easily.

That is a system that is based on freedom.
