Welcome on to a special Paul George extension edition of the Hollinger-Dunkin podcast.

We are also going to go through some of our preseason disagreements. John and I are in the process of

doing our preseason predictions, not totally finalized, but we talked a little bit about

where we see some of these teams and where we have some big disagreements. So we're going to

get into that. You can see some of those teams we disagree on here in the rundown. On the left,

for those watching on Twitch right now.

But let's start here with the Paul George extension, John, and your thoughts on this.

I thought it was a really interesting move because basically, I mean, to me, this is still about

Kawhi Leonard at the end of the day, that you make sure that you have George extended so that

you can get Leonard to re-sign when he

inevitably opts out of his contract at the end of this season. You're already all in with the

five first you gave up for Paul George, which is basically again to get Kauai Leonard. They will

lose on this contract pretty clearly. Paul George is 30. I estimate his value for the coming season

to be like roughly 30 million.

And you're talking about a deal that pays him in excess of 40 in the out years, out till age 34.

Like, the back end of this contract is definitely going to be an L for the Clippers. But they're all in for

right now, basically this year and next year. And if you can get Kauai Leonard to

resign, then maybe, you know, it extends your window and maybe that ends up worth it at the

end of the day, even if mid-decade you have some crappy teams. So that's sort of my take. I thought

it was, I thought it was interesting. Was somebody going to give Paul George a four-year max next summer?

Yeah, you probably couldn't rule it out, especially with the Knicks involved.
