Notably, in 2018, while campaigning to become New York Attorney General, Letitia James vowed to “sue” Trump and routinely spoke of how she would like to see him imprisoned—providing evidence to the defense’s legal argument that this civil suit is entirely political. Trump’s legal team appealed the decision—and now, a New York Appeals Court has thrown out the half-billion-dollar judgement.
