All right, Adrian. We're at the corner of 77th in Columbus, staring at a storefront.

And I brought you here because I know you were on the scene in Brooklyn circa 2007-2008, is that correct?

Yeah, that's correct.

I'm in New York with Adrian Anderson, the ultimate Brooklyn food maven.

Adrian has been working with chefs in food media around New York for years, both making the food and making it look beautiful.

I was just getting out of restaurants and starting to work as a food stylist.

It was maybe still living in Williamsburg, maybe Bushwick around that time.

That's what I was hoping for.

Adrian co-owned the studio where all the food magazines shot, and she did a lot of the styling.

So when I wanted someone to walk me through the ultimate cautionary tale in the world of craft chocolate.

A tale that has a lot to do with the looks and appearances of a bygone Brooklyn era, I knew who'd ask.

I feel like we were at the beginning, or kind of the early stages of farm to table.

I think that we were still in this era of discovery and excitement about sourcing and honesty and authenticity in food.

And in that like budding good future suddenly appears a new chopper maker, right in Williamsburg, the mass brothers.
