There may have only been five games on the Big 12 football schedule, but it did include the game of the year, top 10 matchup, college game day, all happening in Lubbock, Texas.

Let's recap and react to the weekend that was in the Big 12.

So we are going to start in Lubbock, where we had BYU on the road against Texas Tech.

And Texas Tech showed it is a top five team in the country with a top two to three defense in America.

That is how good this Texas Tech Red Raiders team is.

All year long, I have been saying this team will go as far as its defense will take it.

And on Saturday, you saw this defense play as elite as it had all season long

against one of the best offenses it has run into all season long.

Bear Bachmeier finally looked like a true freshman.

For a guy who was developing getting better every single week,

this defense for Texas Tech said,

not so fast, my friend, an ode to Lee Corso. And you know what? They did it in the ways

they've been doing it all season long, right? You had Jacob Rodriguez getting the mix again

with a massive interception. You had the defensive line doing its

thing as well, making life very difficult for Bear Bachmire. You had an offense in

BYU that came in averaging 216 yards per game, get held to 67 yards per game, or 67 yards in

this game, and two and a half yards per carry.

This is what they've done all season.
