Summary

Andy and The Athletic's "Texpert" Sam Khan Jr. thumb through the Big 12 Media Days storylines. What singular question was Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby peppered with at the start of media days? What was Steve Sarkisian's response to questions along the line of "what has cursed Texas and how can it be remedied'? Who will start at QB for the Longhorns? Should Oklahoma lose an opening-round playoff game, will people begin to question if Lincoln Riley can get the job done? So...Horns Down is illegal now? Why? Just why? Just at 26-years-old, Kenny Hill is swiftly rising up the college coaching ranks now as TCU's quarterbacks coach. How high is the ceiling for the ex-Aggies QB? Plus, Dave Aranda's second year outlook and Lance Leipold's tenure at KU is already off to a KU-esque start.

coach at Big 12 Media Day. So congratulations on that monumental achievement, Coach Sark. Sam, how are you doing? I'm good, man. I'm tired, but I'm good. It was shaking a lot of hands, kissing a lot of babies for Sark. And it was good to see everybody. I mean, you know, it's our first media days in two years.

So it was nice to just see everybody and meet guys face-to-face, do interviews face-to-face. I have been doing those this spring. You know, fortunately, I was able to get around the state throughout the spring, but doing it in this larger setting and seeing so many of my colleagues, many of whom I haven't been able to see very much over the course the last few months.

0:54.0

It's really, really able to see very much

over the course the last few months.

1:13.0

It was really, really good to see them.

1:15.1

So it was nice to be out in a productive few days in Arlington, Texas.

1:20.2

I was hoping and praying there would be tons of football questions, and that would

1:24.1

dominate the conversation because I get the sense just from from

1:28.9

what we hear from the listeners and what we hear from our readers that everybody really would

1:33.2

like to talk about football they're tired of talking about COVID they're tired to talk about

1:41.7

big 12 media days and he's being peppered with

1:44.4

COVID questions, which I guess we probably did need to get that part of it out of the way,

1:50.7

figure out what the protocols will be, what the situation will be.

1:55.6

I guess we just saw NC State's baseball team get yanked out of the college world series,

1:59.4

so it's not done yet. But I don't want to make this an all COVID show. So we're going to,

2:05.3

we're going to do the COVID thing and get it out of the way, and then we're going to talk about
